Challenge:

Arts Umbrella is a not-for-profit organization to provide young people aging from 2-19 access to arts education, regardless of their experience, education or socio-economic background. It entered the scene in 1979 and soon earned it reputation for providing the highest-quality arts education. In Vancouver, about 70% of the Arts Umbrella’s students are from the Chinese community. But it has faced enrolment challenge at its new location in South Surrey/White Rock area. Arts Umbrella approached us as they looked to grow their brand in the new territory.

Result:

linQreative worked with the key members of the marketing team and took an in-depth look at the target audience. We began our engagement with the trans-creation of the Program Guide in Chinese language, which would showcase their arts expertise, highlight the qualifications of their faculties, and serve as an end-to-end guide providing all the details about the programs and classes offered at Arts Umbrella. It was imperative that we understand the programs, the arts jargon, and the culture to communicate what the students will learn from the classes and enhance the parents’ interest. For this project, the client specifically required high-quality translation within a very tight deadline. We managed to deliver the 40 pages translation that could easily take up to three months within a month, including the layout design.

The project is ongoing & way more than just translation… We’ll come back and update with new information about our progress soon.
