Arts Umbrella is celebrated across British Columbia as the standard-bearer for youth arts, dance, and theater education. However, when engaging first-generation immigrant families, established non-profit institutions often face cultural communication barriers: traditional academic priorities, unfamiliarity with exploratory (rather than exam-driven) arts training, and intimidation surrounding institutional admissions.

By designing an integrated social media editorial channel across Little Red Book and WeChat, the program demystified Arts Umbrella’s pedagogical philosophy. Complex studio practices were translated into grounded, family-centered narratives—highlighting accessible bursaries, prestigious cultural collaborations (such as the Vancouver Art Gallery curatorial partnership), and emotional stories of creative confidence.
